Keep in mind that there are some cake designers and bakers that will add the wedding plateaus to the overall cost of your wedding cake, while others will rent the plateaus to use as an add-on item. Therefore, it is very important to discuss these details with your cake designer or baker.
Once you are able to return your wedding cake stands on time and they are clean and show no signs of damage, you will be able to get back your entire deposit. On the other hand, if the plateaus are returned four calendar days or three business days after the actual return date, you will be required to pay a late charge that is generally in the range of twenty-five percent. Additionally, if you have not cleaned the plateaus prior to returning them, you may have to pay a cleaning fee; and if they are broke otherwise damaged, you will lose either all of or part of your deposit.
When renting your wedding plateaus, it is imperative that you pay very close attention to the agreement prior to signing it. Ensure that you understand all the terms and conditions, and you also need to ensure that the agreement clearly states that the plateaus are included in the overall price of the wedding cake, or that there is an additional rental charge.
